Purse-Analysis

Sue over at Suzy Snapper tagged me the other day. I've been slow on my blog rounds and missed the tag unfortunately. So, without further delay, here are the contents of my purse. Yep, about as unexciting as I am ;).

I will say that I have a problem when it comes to purses and shoes...although I can't stand to shop in general, I LOVE shoes and purses. I really enjoy looking for something new and different. I can spend a good hour browsing through the shoe department and the purse section of stores even if I don't find anything I really like or that is on sale ;).

The purse itself - it's one I've had for awhile. I'd just switched back to this one last week from a new purse I bought a few months ago. We had a pre-deployment ceremony last week and this purse matched what I was wearing.

Inside, there's a side pocket. All its contents are pretty much in the middle of the purse handle on the table. Four or five things of lip-gloss and two pens. The business cards and my military ID also live in the side pocket. The ID I just had updated a few weeks ago. Husband was promoted almost two years ago and I finally went to get it updated. Honestly, I wouldn't have gone then, but the darn thing was set to expire before he'd get back from this deployment, so it was easier to go take care of it while he was on leave.

Lets see, there's a receipt from Lowes next to the checkbook. My wallet that has my drivers license, credit cards, video store rental card and more business cards. The bulk of stuff in there I think are receipts from last Christmas that I keep meaning to put in the filing cabinet. Nothing like a bit of procrastination huh? There's a roll of film I need to get developed that has the babies first day of school on it and lastly, Big Red gum.

Like I said, nothing too exciting...

Maybe Homefront Six and CaliValleyGirl will share what's in their purses ;). I'm sure their purses will be more interesting than mine.

Thanks for playin' along! I have such a weakness myself for shoes and purses too!

I didn't mention on mine either, but some of the various bits of paper and receipts are also back from the beginning of the year. They weren't bothering me where they were, I guess!

To answer your questions, a passport isn't required to go across the border yet. For now, all one is required to show is a photo ID and proof of citizenship (ie., birth certificate). I just find it's simpler with the passport - one document and all the info they need. Besides, it's easier for them as well. I think next year it's going to be made a requirement, but there were some debates on that so I'm not sure.

Tylenol 3 is a prescribed medicine and it varies on the doctor. She's pretty strict with me and I am thankful for that. What you've probably heard is Tylenol 1 (1/3 the strength of T3s) and 222s. They have mild amounts of codeine and are available 'over the counter'. That just means you have to ask the pharmacist for them.

Thanks again for answering my tag!

Hi Sue! It's been four years since we crossed the border last. I've never had a passport (and hope to never need one), so I knew they didn't request one years ago. I can't remember now if we had to show just our DL or our DL and military IDs. I wondered if due to September 11th, that had changed though.

I enjoyed our drive through both times. Some beautiful scenery, for sure! I really thought AK would look like that or like Colorado, but unfortunately Fairbanks was a far cry from that type of beauty.

Thanks for the info. Someone told me that years ago and it came up a few nights back while talking to my Mother. A friend from high school was in a car accident and suffered a horrible back injury. Even after several surgeries she's practically immobile and has to take some strong medications just to be able to sit in a chair. I'd read online that our government is considering allowing painkillers to be prescribed for more than 30 days. A HUGE thing for this country and the way chronic pain patients are treated and viewed. I'd told Mother that it was sad the way patients are treated in this country when in Canada, people can buy Tylenol 3 over the counter. Mother said no way...I said yes way ROTFL! Anyhow, when I was replying on your blog today I thought - hey, Sue would know :). Now I have to call Mother and tell her that she was right and I was wrong ha ha! Gosh you've just made her entire week lol!

Man, I have so not been keeping up to date on reading blogs...I didn't even know that your hubs was deployed again. So sorry...

And I hate to disappoint you: my purse now contains what I call my "ghetto wallet": a CC and my DL with some bills wrapped up together with a rubberband, and a house key. Mostly I just stuff that in my pocket and forgo the purse.

Well...I am going to read up on your site.

Hugs.
